About me

I would fundamentally define my art vocation within the bracket of a type of ‘Ecological art’ where by an artist seeks to explore, address and heal through interaction between the physical environment and ones place within it. Creating artwork that engages the general public in community issues, creates awareness of regional and global crises and protects fragile ecologies. I seek to bridge community and collaborate with non-artist partners, for the participation and contribution of the public.

I work in close engagement with my audience in a participatory role; I ask for recognition of the audience as creator. My aim is to involve a participant in a ‘service exchange’ or to offer a ‘gift’ that becomes crucial to the manifestation of the art piece; as without them, it might be possible to say, the work cannot exist. I am concerned with all levels of preparation, from the invitation to the souvenir and many of my materials have been recycled from previous works or donated.

The underlying theme that runs throughout my work is one of lost rituals that are a diminishing part of our everyday life, with the ‘wishing’ idea as a focal rite to my practice.
